Reducing disparities in colorectal cancer detection, treatment, and support in Arkansas’ underserved communities.
Colorectal cancer is currently the leading cause of cancer deaths in men under age 50 and second in women of the same age group (American Cancer Society, 2024). Yet, it is the least discussed. In an effort to bring more attention and awareness regarding colorectal cancer to the state of Arkansas, CCCF is taking steps (literally and figuratively) to lead the charge.
Join us for our annual Blue Brunch in March (national colorectal cancer month) and our annual Paint the City Blue Walk held each September. If you’re interested in partnering or would like to host us in one of our outreach counties, email events@cassandracaresarkansas.org.
F.I.T. (Fecal Immunochemical Test) is a stool-based testing kit used to look for signs of cancer in people who do not have any symptoms. It is a simple, non-invasive colon cancer screening tool you can use right in the privacy of your own bathroom.

The initial vision was to honor her mom by supporting other families affected by this disease. Shameka teamed up with Cassandra's youngest daughter, Shandra, and oldest granddaughter, Temerity, to come up with a plan of execution.

Knowing that screenings are key to prevention, the vision shifted toward being proactive rather than reactive. The team began partnering with other organizations to collect the data needed, learn what barriers exist, and identify the communities to focus on. CCCF committed to informing the communities they serve about colorectal cancer and the importance of screenings, as well as providing sensible solutions to barriers that prevent early detection.
CCCF's mission is to inform, educate, prevent, and support. We will lead the charge of raising awareness of colorectal cancer in underserved communities. We will connect Arkansas minorities in the counties we serve to the education and healthcare resources needed to aid in the prevention, early detection, and treatment of colorectal cancer. We will introduce Warrior Support Q3 of 2024.
CCCF welcomes community partners where we can build a mutually beneficial relationship. Submit your email address to begin the sign up process.
CCCF is on a mission to provide free clothes and accessories to cancer patients, helping them feel comfortable and cared for during treatment. To keep our items safe and organized, we rely on a storage unit, but we need your help!
